How Can You Help Obama? - February 19, 2008

Greetings everyone!

I just realized it has been a while since I sent an email out. Things have been very busy since my Langans departure. I am currently working on some new things, so I hope to be able to share that with you soon!

On another front, though, I am pretty active in the political process. I come from an active family--you know, the ones that view election night as a national holiday. And I am very excited about the prospect of having Barack Obama as the democratic nominee.

I very much respect everyone's political choices. If you out there are a Clinton, McCain, or Huckabee supporter I'm just glad you vote! I'm definitely not out to convert anybody.

However, if you are an Obama supporter, or even a maybe-I'll-be-an-Obama-supporter, I wanted to let you know about my fundraising plan.

From now until the democratic nominee is chosen, I will donate the profits from sales of my latest recording, Next To You, to the campaign.

Thanks for considering this--and I'll be back with more music news soon.

Have a great day!

Hanging Up My Little Star - October 23, 2007

Well, I've decided that, after about THREE YEARS playing at Langans on a regular basis, that I'll be finishing my run this year. It has been a great three years for sure, but anybody who knows me well knows I love to shake it up. My exact plans? Not really sure yet actually. But I've always felt you have to be willing to give up something in order for other things to come into your life. But lucky for Langans, I'm handing the reins to some great people. Reggie Quinerly will lead the quartet on Saturdays, and Clovis Nicolas will lead the duo on Sundays. Both are great musicians and have led groups there for me in my absence, so I trust them implicitly.

My last night there will be Saturday, November 24. So hopefully you'll come and hang out with me. AND you can even my mom--she'll be in from Michigan!

I am excited about the unknown, and I'll for sure keep you posted on my plans.
